As I mentioned in my first post, this is my year of learning and discovery, and in a couple of weeks, I'll be taking couture classes with one of the most artistic and genuine couturier's I've ever met.
Colleen's been my friend, mentor, and boss for a little over 2 years now. She's formally trained in French couture and she's now passing on the knowledge to me. Her work is impeccable, and her designs are always so elegant and inspiring.
She's designed for celebrities such as Tyra Banks, Paris Hilton, and Geena Davies, and she's been featured in numerous magazines, museums, and even TV shows like America's Next Top Model (Tyra Banks is her client after all. She was in the cycle when Saleisha won)
I've seen this in real life, and it's even more dramatic than it already is!
Those butterflies were all hand-made
On top of my couture classes, I'm currently working part-time as a Wedding Consultant, so the whole idea of diving into designing bridal gowns and wedding entourage gowns is really piquing my interest.
And speaking of weddings and gowns, Kate Middleton and Prince William's 'wedding of the century' is coming soon and top designers have already sketched out their ideas for what the future princess should wear. But word on the street is that the designer is a little-known British designer who's name would be catapulted into stardom once the dress and his/her name is revealed.
Watch out for the next post for the designers' sketches!
