What's Your Excuse?

To all the petite girls out there! Do not be afraid of the maxi trend! If you love it and it makes you feel comfortable and sexy, go for it!

Just so you guys know, I'm only 5'0. People usually think I'm taller cause a) I have a really short torso, so my legs pretty much make up for most of my height, and b) I wear clothes in a way wherein I can look taller

So a little tip if you're short like me and you want to wear maxi skirts or dresses. Go for the empire silhouette for dresses, and for skirts, go back to basics and wear your skirts where skirts were originally meant to sit, your true waistline (smallest part of your body). Or if you have a long torso, cheat a little bit and wear that skirt up!

Lately, I've sort of been on house arrest ever since we got our dog. He's good and pretty easy to deal with as long as he gets his walks, exercise, and food, but he's still a pup (2 and a half months), and he can't really be alone in the house yet.

It's good though, this down time sort of relaxes me and it gives me time to read. The down side though is of course, the fact that I don't go out as much, and I don't get to work on my blog as much as I would like to (don't get me wrong, I can post "inspiration" pictures all day long, but I'd rather post pictures I've taken myself)

Sup?

Now here's some inspiration for your thoughts

p.s. I love Bruna Tenorio like as much as I love purple and green Skittles!!! :)

And here's more pictures of my pup. Hopefully you guys aren't bored with him anymore :)

  23. you must be doing a good job with your outfits since you don't look 5'0 and i like the skirt! i have a few vintage full skirts and wear 'em despite my height and i recently discovered that wearing wedge sandals really pulls the outfit together and gives me a height boost! haha

thanks, i will try those tips on dressing to seem taller, at 5'1 or 5'2, i need all the help i can get :)

  25. James Franco is such an inspiration to all grad students. I would love to be his muse. <3
Your maxi skirt is lovely. I am 5'1", but I have teeny-tiny, short-ass legs. No fairrrr. I tend to stick to shorter skirts to make my legs appear longer.

  33. You look fabulous! I hate it when people say "I can't wear that because of my height/body type/ect." I feel that it doesn't matter how you look but your attitude :)

Also, I just released the first issue of my magazine! The link is on my blog and I'd love it if you checked it out :)

  35. I like your tips for the maxi-skirts if you're short! I'm only 3" taller and I hate feeling like skirts are wearing ME. Sometimes I wish I was 5'9" so I could wear anything somewhat overbearing like giant bells or dresses. I end up looking like a child-doll though. This look does make you look taller, you look so comfortable, too!

Love the puppy, I recently adopted one, too.
