Putting Floppy Disks To Good Use // Nick Gentry

All images are from http://www.flickr.com/photos/nickgentry/
I wonder if anyone still uses floppy disks to store data in anymore. I wonder if the new generation, in a couple of years, will know what the hell I'm talking about.

Enter Nick Gentry, a British artist who graduated from Central St. Martins and a real bad-ass when it comes to art if you ask me. He uses a lot of obsolete materials as part of his mixed media art style, and the end products are not only stunning but also thought-provoking with hints of "waste culture, life cycles and identity (nickgentry.co.uk)."

  5. This is a super cool way to re-use floppy disks. My little cousins have no idea what floppies are, and that makes me sad. I feel old. I love his artwork, though. It looks really modern and awesome.
